The last several years have seen an explosion in wire fraud cases across the country. Here are a few tips on protecting yourself yourself from becoming the next victim.

TIP 1

Only use verified wire info from your Escrow Officer

Always call before wiring to verify account information. Escrow will never provide different wiring information and never provide it through third parties.

When in doubt call your Escrow Officer

It is not standard to receive updated wire information from your agent, lender or any other party in your transaction. Call before you wire, it’s the safest plan of action! Never accept new wire information by email.

Be on the lookout for anything suspicious

When you ask questions and double-check information with sources they know they can trust, you can avoid becoming a victim of wire fraud.
